Hello,
I have a 2 year old male cocker named Maxwell. I have found that keeping him on a regular walking schedule has helped alot with house training. When we first got him he had some trouble, but I found that after a week or so of the same routine, he knew to wait until we were outside. When he is home alone, he is kept in our kitchen. When he was small he was crate trained, but as he got older we found by putting him in the kitchen (with a baby gate in the door way) it served the same purpose as the crate, but it gave him alot more room. As soon as we return home he is let out of the kitchen and walked immediately. Fortunately, we have been very lucky that Maxwell has never chewed anything other than his toys and bones. Toys are very good for new puppies because it will keep them away from destroying your house. Good luck with your babies!! ![]() Cocker spaniels are super great dogs...once training in complete you can look forward to having two smart, loyal, & loving dogs that will bring you great happiness!!! |
